Cervical cancer is the most preventable cancer. It still remains one of the most common cancers and is still the leading cause of mortality among women across the globe. According to the World Health Organization (WHO), almost all cervical cancer cases (99%) are linked to infection with high-risk human papillomaviruses (HPV), an extremely common virus transmitted through sexual contact. Its incidence is nearly twice as high and its death rates are three times as high in low-and middle-income countries.
Cervical Cancer vaccination programs have been credited with substantially reducing the disease burden in many countries. Research shows girls aged 9-14 have the best immune response to the vaccine, ensuring maximum cervical cancer prevention. Jivika has partnered with Danaher and Give to ensure the accessibility of Cervical Cancer vaccine to the underprivileged girls of 9 to 14 years’ age residing in major metro cities.
One of our beneficiaries is Ms. Komala who studies in BBMP High School in 9th standard located in Ganganagar, Bengaluru. Grateful for the easy accessibility of Cervical Cancer vaccination Komala said, “I thank Jivika Healthcare and its’ partners for providing Cervical Cancer vaccination for protection against cancer disease. Thank you for providing us free vaccination in our school and I hope all the girls in Bengaluru, Karnataka are provided with the vaccination.”
Like Ms. Komala, we ensure equitable access of Cervical Cancer vaccination to the underprivileged girls studying in schools and the school dropout girls of 9 to 14 years of age. We are grateful to our partners for joining hands with us to ensure safety to the underprivileged girls against the life-threatening Cervical Cancer.
