Project Introduction

A public-health promise, brought closer to every girl.

On 11th December, 2025, the Hon’ble Chief Minister’s Office officially announced the launch of the Cervical Cancer Mukt Maharashtra initiative in Pune, Satara, Sambhajinagar and Nashik districts, with Jivika Foundation as the implementing partner.

Jivika’s role is deeply practical and deeply human: to meet schools and families where they are, answer concerns with clarity, secure informed consent, and deliver vaccination through a medically prepared field model.

For a family, prevention is not an abstract statistic. It is the hope that a daughter can enter adulthood protected, confident and free to build the life she imagines.

The Reality Check

The burden is measured in numbers. Its impact is felt in families.

The project deck brings together the following India-specific burden indicators to show why prevention must reach girls before risk begins.

14.7

Age Incidence Rate

per 1 Lakh, as cited in the project deck.

9.2

Age Mortality Rate

per 1 Lakh, as cited in the project deck.

One Life Lost

Why early protection matters

HPV-related cancers are the 2nd-most common cancer in women aged 15-44 years in India after breast cancer.

Behind this burden are daughters, students, future professionals and future mothers. Jivika’s work turns prevention into an organised act of care - one school, one conversation, one signed consent and one protected beneficiary at a time.

Operating Model

A prepared path from first conversation to safe delivery.

Every drive follows a connected field process. The model begins with the school community, respects the parent’s right to understand and consent, and keeps medical readiness present throughout vaccination.

Identification of Schools

Schools are identified so awareness and vaccination activities can be organised where young girls already learn and gather.

Advocacy & Awareness to Parents

Parents receive clear information about HPV prevention, the vaccination process and the safeguards built into each drive.

Signed Consent

Vaccination proceeds only after informed consent has been documented as part of the programme’s medico-legal process.

Vaccination Drives focused on 15-20 Years

Medical teams conduct school-based vaccination drives focused on the beneficiary age group stated in the project deck.

On-site AEFI Management

AEFI kits and a stand-by ambulance support prompt on-site response and reinforce confidence for students, parents and schools.

Our Stringent Medical Protocols

Care is built into every detail.

Jivika’s protocol framework brings together temperature control, doctor-led assessment, emergency preparedness, documented consent and thoughtful beneficiary support.
