The number of Covid infection cases are rising day by day. Vaccine is the most effective tool to be protected against the infection. VaccineOnWheels has joined hands with Give India, USAID and State Governments of Tamil Nadu, Maharashtra and Jharkhand to increase the penetration of Covid vaccination. VaccineOnWheels operates mobile vaccination units that move from place to place and vaccinate people at their localities. The main target groups are the underprivileged and destitute who are at the high risk of getting infected.
One of our teams operating at Arcot block of Ranipet district in Tamil Nadu organized a Covid vaccination camp on 7th of January, 2022 in Ayilam village for the workers working at the stone quarry. The workers working at the stone quarry did not have time to go to the Covid vaccination centre to get vaccinated as they might lose their one day’s wage. The stone quarry is the only source of income for those workers because of which they don’t dare to lose even a day’s wage. Our team members mobilized the workers and motivated them to get vaccinated. They also cleared all their doubts about vaccination. The workers got convinced and were administered vaccination by our team.
Our teams administer vaccination to many such workers working at different sites. We are very grateful to all our partners for being our constant support and helping us to immunize people and build a safe and healthy society.
